What you’ll be doing:

  • Performing inspections and disassembly of rotating machines
  • Understanding and interpreting mechanical and schematic drawings
  • Conducting basic electrical testing to assess machine condition
  • Accurately identifying damage and wear on AC/DC electric motors and other machinery
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to create a realistic Project Plan that includes resource requirements and estimated durations
  • Monitoring progress against the Project Plan and developing strategies to address any actual or potential delays
  • Coordinating working hours and shift schedules with the client to ensure projects are completed within the planned timelines
  • Ensuring that Risk Assessments and Method Statements are communicated to all relevant individuals
  • Working with the Project Manager and responsible Engineer to ensure all necessary check sheets and quality record forms are collected and distributed prior to site mobilisation
  • Ensuring the overall safety of the Quartzelec team and activities carried out
  • Engaging in daily communication with client representatives on site


Your skills and experiences:

  • You are a qualified professional with extensive experience in fitting and winding for electrical machinery
  • You must possess a technical qualification from a reputable college, along with a minimum of 3 years of on-site project experience working with rotating electrical machines
  • You will have knowledge of medium to large electrical rotating machines, including High Voltage systems, AC & DC motors, and generators, is essential
  • You will be Experienced in conducting electrical testing, such as PD&TD testing, El CID testing, RSO testing, and HV Leakage testing.


Job Role

As a result of our sustained expansion, we are currently seeking to onboard a seasoned Electrical Test Engineer with expertise in rotating machines to support our operations at multiple locations throughout the UK, overseas, and offshore.
