Cardiff Wales, Cardiff County, United Kingdom Ogi Full time

DevOps Engineer – Up to 55k with Bonus and Excellent Benefits – Cardiff (Hybrid)

Ogi is a leading Welsh telco with big ambitions. We’re a network builder and operator bringing full-fibre services to communities across South Wales. Our Ogi Pro brand provides everything from telephony to managed IT services, alongside our high-capacity wholesale network that spans the M4 corridor.

Backed by multimillion-pound private investment, we’re proud to be an employer of choice in Wales, creating hundreds of jobs across four offices. Join a purpose-driven team with a culture rooted in innovation that’s shaping Wales’s digital future

We’re expanding our DevOps team to drive both operational excellence and innovation, so we’re on the lookout for a DevOps Engineer with a solid background in Microsoft 365, PowerApps, and Power Automate, combined with cloud platform experience and an eagerness to further develop their skills.

This role is ideal for someone with IT Ops Support experience and some development knowledge who’s keen to deepen their expertise in automation, systems integration, and assessing end-to-end project impacts.

About you…

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in bringing more processes in-house, balancing both development and operational support while working closely with suppliers and engaging in various tech projects.

You should be familiar with Microsoft 365 and tools like PowerApps and Power Automate, with some hands-on experience in scripting, automation, or systems integration. You’re now looking to deepen your DevOps skills while still contributing to operational tasks.

Our restructured IT team focuses on DevOps, providing flexibility to work across development, testing, support, documentation, and end-user training. Your primary focus will be to help streamline and automate our systems, covering the creation, testing, deployment, and support of our applications.

Expect a mix of development and operations tasks, with the balance shifting as needed. We use Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) packages, focusing on configuration, customisation, and API integration. Experience with Java and Microsoft products like Dynamics365, Azure, Power Apps, and DataBricks is a big plus, though enthusiasm and a quick learning ability are also highly valued.

In terms of background/attributes, we’re looking for:

* Experience working with Microsoft 365, PowerApps, Power Automate, and other Microsoft products.

* A solid foundation in development, whether that’s scripting, building automation workflows, or system integration.

* Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

* A passion for learning and applying DevOps practices to drive operational improvements.

* Operational experience in systems monitoring, incident resolution, or IT infrastructure management is a plus.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a development foundation who’s ready to take on more DevOps responsibilities, enhancing automation and integration across a fast-growing company.

What you’ll be doing…

You’ll help us bring more processes in-house, balancing development and operational support while working closely with suppliers and engaging in tech projects.

We’re looking for someone who can help optimise systems, develop automation pipelines, and integrate applications to boost efficiency. Whether you're assessing the impact of changes on IT projects, handling UAT and bug fixes, resolving incidents in IT operations, or collaborating with PMs to grasp and implement new requirements, no two days will be the same.

This role offers a great blend of operations as well as development work, ideal for someone looking to expand their DevOps skills while leveraging their expertise in Microsoft platforms. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

* Creating and enhancing automation workflows using PowerApps, Power Automate, and Azure tools to improve efficiency and streamline operations.

* Assisting with operational support, such as system monitoring, incident resolution, and collaborating with teams to resolve technical issues.

* Supporting systems integration and working on API-driven projects to link different systems and platforms.

* Enhancing and optimising the use of Microsoft Dynamics365 across the business, including CRM and workflow automation.

* Collaborating with development and operations teams to improve processes, and contributing to ongoing projects involving automation and cloud services.

* Managing and supporting CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and automated deployments.

Next Steps?

Please get in touch for more information and a confidential chat, even if you don't tick all the requirements but think you'd be a good fit.
