Are you an experienced strategic sourcing and procurement professional? Our client, a leading utilities company, is seeking a proactive and skilled Category Manager to join their team in Warwick, shaping category strategy and optimising supplier performance. This is an excellent opportunity to drive value and contribute to the success of a dynamic organisation.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies for assigned categories, leveraging data analysis and market insights.
  • Lead sourcing projects, from supplier identification to negotiation, ensuring cost savings and other benefits.
  • Monitor and stay updated on market developments, risks, and opportunities, driving engagement with suppliers.
  • Acquire in-depth expertise and corporate intelligence on assigned categories.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support ongoing commercial activities and manage supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, risk, and compliance management procedures.


Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a strategic sourcing or procurement professional, delivering continuous improvement and results within the IT Sector
  • Solid understanding of procurement practices, category spend analysis, sourcing processes, and supplier management.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the utilities industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in relevant categories or transferrable skills across category areas.
  • Hands-on experience in procurement activities, including requirement definition, sourcing planning, and competitive bidding.
  • Ideally experience within a public sector with IT Procurement experience
