Position summary:


Following the rapid ongoing growth of the company and exciting plans within the HV team we are pleased to introduce the role of HV Contracts Manager.


You will be part of a widespread and large team of Electricians providing preventative and corrective site maintenance across the O&M portfolio. The position will mean supporting technicians working on the HV networks remotely, as well as regular site visits to carry out training, QA and operational tasks. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients and address their business needs. You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of H&S throughout the HV operations, including reviewing switching schedules, reviewing/updating Recurrent Energy safety rules and making sure these processes are followed. You will ensure that the documentation is up to date and organised and that the business is fully supported in all HV requirements of the company. The position also includes management of Recurrent Energy HV partner framework operations, this includes scheduling PM, tracking the work, and making sure all reporting is in on time and to standards.


You will have comprehensive knowledge of DC, LV & HV systems and circuit protection and will be able to diagnose any issues remotely. All electrical work must be carried out in accordance with industry standards and good Health and Safety practices.


Responsabilities:


  • General management of your day-to-day operations
  • Management of HV contractors, including SSE and HVPS
  • Management of contractors for HVPM
  • HV maintenance tracker manager for your designated region
  • Control engineer duties and field team support
  • Continuation and increase of management of O&M corrective projects, involving contractors
  • Supporting the HV lead with AP training as and when required
  • Negotiating new HV contracts as required and terms for corrective work
  • Developing and maintaining contractor relationships
  • RAMS authorisation alongside HV admin
  • Client engagement on HV points
  • Supporting in the recruitment process of HV team members
  • Training and support with all new starters in HV team
  • Corrective work project management
  • AP training and authorisation
  • HV project teamwork
  • Contribution to HV business plan where work is done inhouse

  • Keep up to date with industry standards and technology reporting any findings to management

  • Recommend improvements and modifications
  • Investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders including the public
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as requested


Key skills:


  • Must hold 18th Edition Electrical Regulations qualification
  • Senior Authorised Person or Approved Authorised Person authorisation held in other position
  • Candidates preferably will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or be HNC qualified.
  • 5 years + experience working directly with high voltage equipment.
  • Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of HV & LV distribution systems.
  • Experience of working with central inverter manufacturers would be preferable but not essential
  • Worked on large scale solar projects
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the BS 7671 Wiring Regulation Standards
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of DC Electrical systems
  • You must be able to understand site drawings and SLDs.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and deal with emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication skills to maintain strong client relationships.
