Our world-renowned client in the Engineering space is looking to hire a seasoned IT Infrastructure Engineer to come in and add weight to their existing team. As an experienced Engineer, you will join a team tasked with designing, installing and supporting critical IT systems and infrastructure, taking the lead on project work and bringing your experience to bear. Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Engineering: plan, design and implement modern IT infrastructure in a public cloud environment, including: AD, Servers (Windows & Linux), Software, VDI and Virtualisation.
  • Automation: automate processes using the likes of Ansible and PowerShell scripting.
  • Networking: carry out tasks related to networking (wired & wireless).
  • Support: investigate and resolve incidents in an efficient manner, working under time pressure. Collaborate with other teams to find solutions for recurring issues and meet support SLAs, maintaining incident records along the way.
  • Monitoring: create and maintain monitoring & logging solutions; identify and remediate problems with availability, performance and capacity. Provide reporting on KPIs.
  • Documentation: document operating, installation, and upgrade procedures for new and existing infrastructure. Create runbooks for common support and maintenance work.
  • Collaboration: work across the IT department and wider business to design solutions and investigate/resolve issues. Provide knowledge and training resource to junior staff, sharing knowledge and experience to upskill colleagues. Keep up-to-date on emerging tech trends, promoting the use of technology business-wide.
  • Security: work closely with Information Security to implement best practices and maintain controls in line with company policy. Ensure infrastructure is maintained, patched and protected at all times.


Your background:

  • Significant experience in Infrastructure Engineering or similar senior support roles is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of AD, Windows Server architecture, components, and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud platforms (ideally Azure).
  • Extensive experience with M365, virtualization (VMware and Nutanix preferred) and hyperconvergence.
  • Experience building and maintaining Linux systems (esp. RHEL, Ubuntu)
  • Incident management tools and processes exposure.
  • Networking implementation and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a customer-first approach.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Relevant industry or Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience working withing technology in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
