Role Overview

As a Senior Consulting Manager in Data Engineering, you will take on a leadership role in delivering cutting-edge data engineering solutions, building and expanding partner channels, and driving business growth. You will collaborate with clients to understand their data needs and help them build scalable cloud-based data platforms. In addition to business development and client engagement, you will also remain involved in the technical aspects of data engineering, providing leadership to your team and ensuring high-quality project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Data Engineering practice, delivering projects across cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Provide strategic direction on data architecture, engineering, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Engage in business development activities, working closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Build and manage partner channels, driving collaboration with key technology providers like Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Lead and mentor data engineering teams, ensuring successful delivery of projects.
  • Stay hands-on with SQL and data engineering concepts, providing technical guidance when necessary.
  • Grow the Data Engineering practice, contributing to recruitment, team development, and the expansion of our client's service offerings.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Data Engineering: Extensive experience in data engineering, with strong knowledge of cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies.
  • Consulting Experience: Proven experience in a consulting environment, working with clients to design and deliver data solutions.
  • Cloud Data Platforms: In-depth understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and modern data architectures.
  • SQL Expertise: Strong SQL skills, with the ability to still be hands-on when needed in data transformation and engineering tasks.
  • Leadership: Experience leading and managing teams, with a focus on delivering high-quality data engineering projects.
  • Business Development: Demonstrated success in building client relationships, developing business opportunities, and working with partner channels.


Your Background

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with a mix of hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities.
  • Solid experience in cloud data technologies, particularly Snowflake, Databricks, or other comparable platforms.
  • Previous experience working within a consultancy, ideally with a focus on data and cloud platform solutions.
  • Proven ability to grow and manage teams, including recruitment, mentorship, and team development.
  • Experience building and nurturing partnerships with technology vendors and other strategic partners.
  • A strong strategic mindset, with the ability to drive business growth through new opportunities and client relationships.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in other data and AI tools, such as Python, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices in data engineering environments.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, able to present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
