My client is one of the world's leading investors in the Private Equity Secondary market and they are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join their London office on contract basis.


My client’s enterprise technology is being transformed to a Cloud-First, Cloud-Native architectural model, utilising DevSecOps processes and adoption of systems thinking concepts from LEAN to enhance productivity. The existing team of Cloud Engineers are responsible for delivering Cloud-native solutions that are fully automated through code, are scalable, and maximise availability and reliability 24 x 7.


Your key responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Have broad responsibilities to engineer and secure core Azure platform services across our global footprint.
  • Ensure that compute infrastructure is continually optimised to match business demands.
  • Design and operate storage strategy to ensure that data is optimally stored based on latency and cost.
  • Work with Cloud Security Engineering to automate the vulnerability patching processes.
  • Optimise global network to ensure latency and performance meets business expectations.
  • Automate every operational aspect of the Infrastructure and systems lifecycle.
  • Ensure Azure tagging/naming taxonomies are maintained and implemented across all Cloud assets.
  • Respond to incidents that impact availability across the global infrastructure and provide support for service analysts on customer incidents.
  • Run Infrastructure with Python/PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Azure DevOps CI/CD, and Kubernetes.


Required skills/ experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of Azure Compute capabilities and know the differences in models and cost strategies.
  • Extensive experience with Azure Storage services, with particular focus on tiered-storage strategies.
  • Extensive experience of Azure Network Access principles and implementations.
  • Extensive experience of platform redundancy/resilience strategies in a global context.
  • Proficiency in implementing and administering containerised workloads with container orchestration.
  • Configuration management: use Ansible to effectively manage infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure as code: use Terraform and Azure DevOps CI/CD for automation, containerise environments (Kubernetes), and leverage Cloud technologies to meet the firms’ goals.
