Legal and General Group Functions are looking to hire a Data Analytics Manager to manage a team of 7 in the delivery of insights through analysis of data across a wide range of business functions from Finance to Tech.
The role will see you coaching, mentoring and developing the team and directing on project discussions, strategy and delivery across the business, assessing the capacity of the team and assigning projects. You will advocate for data visualisation best practice by sharing knowledge and providing guidance and developing processes to ensure that deliverables are created efficiently and perform optimally.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading a team of analysts, helping to scope projects, guide design, approach & technical delivery and embed standardised practices & ways of working
- Understanding the data systems and structures within the business, contributing towards improvements to these systems where possible and linking understanding of source data to value-adding analytics and reporting
- Advocating for data visualisation best practice, sharing knowledge and guidance with others, ensuring all outputs are visualised to a high standard in line with company requirements
- Continuously developing processes so that deliverables are created in the most efficient way to improve performance, through the use of code to manipulate data (e.g. SQL) and visualisation tools to display outputs clearly (e.g. Tableau/PowerBI). Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of regular reports to the business and designing processes so they are automated and easily repeatable
- Satisfying ad hoc data and visualisation requirements from internal customers; understanding the business need and delivering the outcome in a flexible and insightful manner in line with business requirements.
- Leading stakeholder management and issue resolution for the team while developing and maintaining productive relationships with all stakeholders and providing advice and guidance on data, analytics and visualisation to improve their knowledge and understanding
- Implementing appropriate governance, reporting and escalation of changes impacting customers to ensure key checkpoints are met in line with stakeholder and business requirement
- Taking the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance
Who we're looking for:
- Experience in leading and delivering through others, and coaching team members to improve performance
- Experience of creating dashboards/data visualisations with dashboarding software such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Performing data manipulation and transformation to create and maintain datasets. Creation of structured datasets that facilitate efficient dashboard creation
- Gathering requirements from stakeholders across internal teams, managing expectations and guiding on approach. Experience managing a senior stakeholder audience
- Working with a variety of datasets across different domains. Proven ability to rapidly understand the commercial and business context when working with new data and domains
- Systems
- Significant experience with dashboarding tools such as Power BI and Tableau
- Significant experience with coding languages for data manipulation, such as SQL
