Responsibilities:

In general, the role will support the operation of existing generating assets and the development of new projects for both tidal and battery energy storage systems. Core responsibilities will encompass support of other business activities as required and resources permit.

  • Generation and submission of asset condition reports to the O&M team for risk review, discussion and appropriate action.
  • The provision of weekly and monthly reporting of array operation against defined technical and commercial KPI.
  • Liaison with suppliers, providing processed operating data pre-requisite to technical discussion and risk evaluation of specific systems and components.
  • Preparation of works documentation for the maintenance of MeyGen project assets alongside the implementation of a Quality Assurance / Quality Control process.
  • The identification and ordering of system critical and maintenance spares held in stock for unplanned and planned maintenance events.
  • Maintaining the Project Site Drawing to ensure the position of offshore assets are up to date and accurate.
  • Support administrative back-office activities issuing Purchase Orders and tracking of project spend against..
  • Project co-ordination support for maintenance activities.
  • Support of project development across the portfolio.

Experience

  • Education to degree level in a relevant technical discipline (Mechanical or Electrical), a second degree or practical experience would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in a programming language for the manipulation of large data set (MatLab, Python, C++ or similar) experience in SQL would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes and practices, practical experience of maintenance works of mechanical machinery would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with automotive or large-scale rotating machinery would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills when presenting complex reports.
  • An attention to detail and proficiency in writing procedures and quality documentation.
  • Strong understanding of program management to deliver upon time and budget.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team consisting of employees and contractors.
  • Formal Health and Safety and first aid qualifications would be an advantage.
