Job Description:

We are a small family firm seeking an Area Sales Manager covering our Northern territory (East Midlands and North) to join our friendly team. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday.

The role is suitable for someone who has previous sales experience, preferably based within the East Midlands and who has a working knowledge and understanding of the UK merchant sector. An understanding of the heating/water treatment industry would also be an advantage. Consideration would be made to people within the industry looking for their first move into frontline sales.

Job Purpose:

This role is vital to the success of the Company’s sales function and the role-holder will undertake a range of tasks which support the development of sales growth for the Company and will support the National Sales and Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To achieve and exceed agreed company sales targets by growing existing & new accounts.
  • Management of both independent and national accounts at branch & regional level where appropriate.
  • Introduction of Scalemaster® product portfolio to commercial applications.
  • Technical service & support to our customer base on all products at all levels, including carrying out service calls and taking relevant action in a speedy, correct manner.
  • Implement the development of business plans and strategies on the sales territory.
  • Analyse and survey the sales territory and suggest adjustments where necessary.
  • Adhere to Company policies, rules, and regulation.
  • Maintain appropriate records as required in a timely, concise & legible manner
  • Implement high standards for productivity, customer-service, and quality of service.
  • Visit existing customers both Independent and National, to educate staff and customers on product features & benefits and maintain a high company profile.
  • Visit existing customers both Independent and National, to offer new products and services in order to increase the product offering and increase sales.
  • Organise and attend Trade / Breakfast mornings and other customer trade events when required.
  • Contact customers via cold calls, emails, and arranged meetings to secure sales deals and contracts.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with clients to create an atmosphere that fosters sales.
  • Analyse and interpret sales records and customer accounts.
  • Carry out research to identify new sales opportunities and report back to the National Sales Manager.
  • Carry out Market Research when requested and report back in a timely, concise manner.
  • Carry out projects as and when required to fulfil customer and Company requests.
  • Follow commercial projects and contracts through from inception to completion including site visits when required.
  • Liaise with administration team as necessary
  • Also undertake any other reasonable duties/requests as required.
