Are you a seasoned cloud expert ready to shape the future of UK public sector infrastructure?


We’re seeking a Principal AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design, management, and maintenance of our customer’s cloud architectures. You'll drive cloud adoption, develop cutting-edge solutions, and contribute to a national critical infrastructure project.


About the Role

  • Architect and implement best-in-class cloud services aligned with DevOps principles.
  • Establish and maintain cloud best practices across the organisation.
  • Guide cloud strategy in line with GDS Service Manual and Technology Code of Practice.
  • Monitor cloud services and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage cloud risks and ensure data security and privacy.
  • Foster a cloud-first culture and mentor team members.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Center of Excellence to achieve accreditations.
  • Enable multi-cloud connectivity through design and development.
  • Develop and optimise cloud migration processes.
  • Participate in design authority tasks and create comprehensive handover documentation.
  • Embrace a hybrid work model with on-site presence in Corsham, Wiltshire.


What You'll Need

  • Proven AWS expertise with AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
  • Hands-on experience as a Cloud Architect.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing models and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Alignment with UK Government's Technology Code of Practice.
  • Proficiency in source control tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Experience in Agile delivery and DevOps environments.
  • Knowledge of Service Operations and ITIL.
  • Track record in cloud operations and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • UK government SC clearance or eligibility.
