London based role - Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH/Remote

The Role:


Chesamel is a fast paced organisation with an increasingly growing headcount. The Employee Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and a productive work environment for all the workforce. This position is responsible for managing all types of employee relations issues, ensuring compliance to local employment laws, conducting investigations, and handling day to day employee queries.


Core responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve all types of employee related queries to employment, our company Policies and our procedures
  • Handle multiple employee cases timely and confidentiality
  • Liaise with our Global EOR providers to manage complex cases according to local laws
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to employee relations matters.
  • Analyze employee relations trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Promote a culture of open communication, respect, and trust.
  • Work closely with the People Team to develop and implement policies and programs that promote a positive and inclusive culture.


Complex Case Investigations:

  • Conduct investigations, gathering information and evidence and other relevant sources
  • Advise on best practice (via our EOR’s) and ensure compliance to local laws
  • Analyze evidence and draw conclusions and outcomes
  • Prepare comprehensive investigation reports & timelines
  • Address any conflicts and disputes ethically and timely
  • Handle any disciplinaries and grievances


Global Employment Law

  • Stay up to date on legal developments and best practices in employee relations
  • Manage cases with our Global EOR providers and advise People Team on updates
  • Conduct research and information to share with internal stakeholders and People Department


Training & Development

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on employee relations matters, ensuring procedures are clear
  • Develop and deliver training programs to internal stakeholders on employee relations topics
  • Train and assist Managers on Performance Management, Conflict Management, and general ER practices
  • Providing coaching and training on effective communication and conflict resolution


Specifications & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience of employee relations (ideally employee relations specific)
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (UK, Europe/ Global)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough and impartial investigations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • CIPD qualified
  • Experience working across multiple countries
  • Strong knowledge of the German & Dutch employee legislations particularly
