This journey brings a new and exciting opportunity for skilled and experienced Insurance professional to join us at Ardonagh Advisory as a Regional Development Director. This is your chance to join a newly recruited, leadership team where you will work collaboratively providing guidance and support in designing marketing initiatives and sales campaigns.


This role will require regular travel / visits across all the sites within your allocated region. You can be based anywhere within the region within a reasonable distance from one of our General Insurance (Towergate / Ethos) locations.


In this vital new role of Regional Development Director, you will work closely with the Divisional Development Director and assist the Regional Director to grow sales, improve retention rates and explore cross sales opportunities throughout the Region you are assigned to. The primary focus of this role is the regional delivery of the Advisory General Insurance sales and retention strategy working in collaboration with Regional Directors and Branch Directors to enable the delivery of these plans through their teams.


Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver the agreed cross sales approach, ensuring effective communication and monitoring to the Regional Directors across all product areas
  • Ensure effective pipeline plans are in place safeguarding that regional sales pitches are led by the most appropriate person/team to maximise the success of new and retained business
  • Support and enable the Branch Directors with the sales development of the regional Account Executives, increasing accountability, driving awareness and challenging continuous improvement in the region, tracked and monitored by meaningful MI
  • Responsible for the production and overseeing of all relevant data and MI required to identify performance trends which result in action plans which are implemented in a timely manner
  • Support and enable the Regional Director with sales development of the divisional Account Executives, increasing accountability, driving awareness and challenging continuous improvement in the Region, tracked and monitored by meaningful MI.
  • Provide feedback to the Divisional Development Director to assist in the design of the new business and cross sales / upsales strategy for the division and region
  • Lead on the divisional marketing and sponsorship strategy for the division ensuring key stakeholders are engaged and consulted appropriately to ensure buy in
  • Support regional sales meetings and events, sales days, conferences, specialisms, sales initiatives, campaigns resulting in an uplift of business performance
  • Contribute & Engage with H&P Head of Relationships and Cyber Regional Lead to increase the Cross Penetration for the Region


What we are looking for

  • An experienced insurance professional with demonstrable experience in management roles within insurance and extensive knowledge of the insurance industry specifically development and insurer relationships
  • Proven track record of creating developing plans to grow sales and improve client retention within a regulatory framework and of managing client relationships
  • Proven track record of improving business performance, income and employee engagement within a regulated environment through effective sales and development planning
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills across a scaled and multiple site UK brokerage
  • Possesses a commercial focus and financial awareness, e.g. understanding of the external market, company performance, market intelligence, business drivers, etc
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including negotiation, contracting, consultancy, facilitation, influencing, presentation
  • Demonstrates leadership in driving new ideas and innovation along with resilience and the ability to deal with challenges in a positive way
  • Flexibility to travel you must be available to travel to our various offices and attend meetings which could include overnights stays.
