Our clients are seeking a skilled Power Apps Developer to design, build, and implement custom applications using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and other components of the Microsoft Power Platform. You will work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements, translate them into functional applications, and support the integration of these apps within the organisation’s existing systems.

The Role

A Power Apps Developer is responsible for creating, implementing, and optimising applications using Microsoft Power Apps to solve business challenges, improve workflow efficiency, and support digital transformation efforts. This role often blends elements of development, design, and process analysis, making it essential for organisations looking to modernise their operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom business applications using Microsoft Power Apps (Canvas Apps, Model-Driven Apps).

  • Implement data models, user interfaces, and business logic using Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Use Power Automate to automate workflows, approvals, and notifications.
  • Integrate Power Apps with data sources (e.g., SharePoint, SQL, Dataverse, third-party APIs).
  • Create and maintain connectors to integrate Power Apps solutions with external applications as required.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and user needs.
  • Design intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Ensure that applications are accessible, mobile-friendly, and optimized for performance.
  • Perform testing and debugging of applications to ensure they meet the desired specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Create detailed documentation for developed applications, including user guides and technical documentation.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for Power Apps solutions.
  • Train end-users and teams on using the applications and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with IT teams, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in regular meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and future improvements.
  • Contribute to Power Platform governance, best practices, and optimization strategies within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Platform components.
  • Proficiency in creating both Canvas and Model-Driven Apps.
  • Strong understanding of data integration with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SQL databases, and other common data sources.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and knowledge of coding concepts to enhance Power Apps functionality.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dataverse (formerly Common Data Service), Power BI, and connectors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Power Platform certification(s).
  • Experience with Azure services and integrating Power Apps with Azure resources.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in process automation and workflow management.
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 and other Microsoft business solutions.

Key Competencies

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Creativity and an eye for detail in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design.
