The role:

As a Wind Turbine Technician, you won’t be just another number on a spreadsheet – you’ll be the forefront of innovation, making a tangible impact on the future of our planet.

You will be responsible for:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime
  • Inspect turbine components, including blades, nacelles, and towers, for any signs of damage or wear
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic equipment
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying cause of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with a team of technicians to complete scheduled maintenance tasks and respond to unscheduled repairs
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new wind turbines
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition


To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for working with complex machinery
  • Minimum of 3 years experience on wind turbines in a technician capacity
  • Experience with Nordex Turbines is essential
  • Experience in building or repairing mechanical or electrical systems is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and ability to read electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in using software programs such as Revit and SolidWorks for design and analysis purposes
  • Familiarity with carbonise systems and logic controllers used in wind turbine operations
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify equipment failures and implement effective solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience of being an Authorised Technician under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.


It would be desirable to have:

  • Full GWO, Working at Heights Medical.
  • Experience on Siemens and Vestas Turbines
  • Experience of being an Authorised Engineer under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
