We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Senior to manage a portfolio of payroll clients from start to finish, including a variety of workplace pension schemes. Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with clients and HM Revenue & Customs to provide expert payroll advice and address queries efficiently.
  • Set up new payroll clients and manage PAYE scheme closures.
  • Administer workplace pension schemes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Lead and mentor junior payroll staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Prepare and review payroll reports for internal and client use, ensuring high standards of data integrity.


General Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain files, records, and department databases.
  • Handle ad hoc queries and provide support as needed.
  • Complete tasks on spreadsheets and word documents for analysis and team development.
  • Assist the manager and team members with organisational tasks.
  • Provide recommendations to the Manager regarding client methods and procedures on payrolls.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong experience in a payroll role within an Accountancy Practice or Payroll Bureau.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (Sage or alternative).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
