The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience advising on UK GDPR/data protection issues and will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of data protection and privacy legal and practical issues.

About the team

  • The team of over 200 staff provides specialized legal services to private and commercial clients, with a focus on family and private client work. They are renowned for their expertise in these areas and are highly regarded in the industry.
  • The Corporate Department is a key area of the firm, comprising three Partners, one Senior Associate, two Associates, and a Trainee.
  • They advise on a wide range of corporate transactions and commercial work across various sectors, including private companies, listed companies, and multinational businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing, drafting, and advising on privacy documents and data sharing agreements
  • Conducting legitimate interest assessments and data protection impact assessments
  • Advising on data breaches, international transfers of data, and data subject access requests
  • Conducting due diligence on UK GDPR compliance in corporate transactions
  • Reviewing supplier terms and conditions for data processing compliance
  • Advising on derogations and exemptions from the UK GDPR
