Job Purpose:

An influential role tasked with maximising business growth through investment in the right initiatives based on strategic goals to support and promote business growth. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, together with strong financial and marketing management skills, organisational abilities and interpersonal qualities. Success of the role will be measured through the ability to expand a company's commercial activities and generate revenue streams for sustainable financial growth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the commercial performance of the growth and innovation product portfolio

  • Develop, plan and implement the commercial strategy for the portfolio, aligned with business goals to promote growth

  • Leverage market research and analysis to inform business plans on commercial opportunities and understand future threats

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to understand the needs of current customers and devise and implement customer acquisition strategies where appropriate.

  • Collaborate with departments across the company (marketing, sales, finance)

  • Steer multiple product ideation, incubation and growth teams to maximise commercial potential

  • Assisting in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring.

  • Accountable for all commercial outcomes with customers, partners and investments

  • Monitor the performance of commercial activities using key metrics

Essential knowledge, skills, experience, qualifications & competencies:

  • Commercial experience in different business disciplines, with proven knowledge in building and growing scalable products and companies

  • Experience working in a venture capital, private equity or similar innovation and growth portfolio management position

  • Future energy experience

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with considerable sector expertise

  • Ability to lead by example to drive creativity and enthusiasm in the team.

  • A blend of commercial awareness, analytical and creative thinking, partnered with a strategic mindset.

  • A deep understanding of business operations, finances, sales and marketing tactics and market conditions

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to enable collaboratively with key shareholders

  • A constantly enquiring mind and a natural ability to influence others at all levels

  • Experience in developing and implementing successful business growth strategies that align with the corporate aims of the business

  • Working collaboratively across E.ON UK with senior leadership to achieve the organisation's growth ambitions
