We have a new and exciting opportunity to join our Commercial team as a Communications Manager. This key position will lead and implement the Internal and External Communications Strategy for Tropic.

What you will do:
In this role you will develop, implement, and manage the internal and external communications strategy within Tropic aligned with maintaining a consistent brand image whilst maximizing Tropic’s visibility and exposure.
As a young, growing company, we are looking for someone with a “can-do” attitude with a willingness to execute an array of tasks (from strategy to product marketing, to internal communications) with agility.
Ideally you will have an understanding of a matrix style of responsibilities, including external suppliers and contractors within the scope of our activities, maintaining the required standards set by the strategy.
The role will entail the establishment and evolution of a communications team responsible for the different levels of activities involved in both internal and external communications, from brand identity, printed and digital tools, to media, exhibitions, and events.
Key Responsibilities:
Definition, implementation, and management of Communications strategy
- You will take the broad outlines of the Tropic Communication strategy and to establish and follow an implementation plan.
- You will develop and manage the key messages required for communicating Tropic’s voice to employees, the public and stakeholders.
- You will be responsible for tracking and monitoring expenditure against a detailed planned budget is key to supporting this activity along with allocating tasks according to the available resources and priorities of the company and regions in which we are operating.
- You will be strengthening Tropic’s brand image within the agricultural industry, beyond just the GE industry
To establish Product Communications.
- With the Crop Product Manager, you will develop the product marketing strategy and relevant associated tools for B2B commercial development tools
- You will have responsibility of Identifying relevant communication channels in key markets for Tropic and its products.
- Establishing and implementing key communication messages and topics aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Keep the Tropic website updated with all news, events and product details
To develop and enhance internal communications within Tropic.
- You will establish a culture and practice of internal communication that builds a common team spirit within the company.
- As well as developing a clear and simple internal communication strategy and platform for employees
Experience and Knowledge:
Core knowledge:
- You will have a proven track record working as a Marketing and Communications professional who has led and implemented organisation communication strategies.
- Internal and external communications experience
- Establishment, implementation and management of a communications strategy
- Development and management of Product Marketing
- Stakeholder management skills to effectively communicate, and influence discussions to achieve an effective outcome
Job knowledge:
- Implementation of Digital communication tools
- Management of external collaborators and team members
Desirable Experience
- Formal qualification in Marketing and Communications
- Experience in the Life Sciences or Bio-tech industry/ies.
- Experience within a start-up / growth environment would be beneficial
