This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced professional who will play a key role in the County Council’s Parking and Traffic Enforcement Services team, set up to deliver and manage all aspects of on-street parking and traffic enforcement within the County.

As Principal Parking Officer you will be responsible for a range of parking and traffic enforcement functions including dealing with correspondence and enquiries, supervising the parking officers, and dealing with post Notice To Owner (NtO) appeals related to the issuing of Penalty Charge Notices under Civil Parking Enforcement and Moving Traffic Enforcement powers, including cases that are considered by the Traffic Penalty Tribunal. You will also help ensure the successful operation of residential parking schemes across the County.

With experience in managing a team of parking professionals or team management in a similar environment, you will be highly motivated, be politically aware and will be able to communicate well with people and organisations at all levels.

A working knowledge and understanding of the 2004 Traffic Management Act is desirable and how this and other relevant legislation impacts on the service but is not essential.

You will be instrumental in the successful operation of a modern, efficient and customer focussed parking service which will include day to day management and performance monitoring of the outsourced on-street Parking Services contract.
