Job Role: Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description:


1. To interpret system requirements into clear unambiguous hardware design requirements and to develop Hardware Development Plans to identify workflow.


2. To design, analyse, commission, and verify analogue and digital circuits in accordance with defined requirements specifications including cost and reliability targets.


3. To document design activities, ensuring traceability of design to requirements, whilst also ensuring adherence to relevant project, company or regulatory standards and processes.


4. To plan, generate, perform, and validate results of hardware verification plans and procedures.


5. To support hardware qualification activities


6. To specify, design, commission and verify equipment test solutions to support hardware verification & qualification activities and production.

  • PCB Design Knowledge
  • Documentation
  • Design Verification, Validation
  • Power supply design (DC-DC)
  • EMI/EMC design
  • Tools - Cadence OrCAD Schematic Capture, Allegro PCB Editor, pspice
  • Circuits simulation
  • (Parametric, PWL, Monte-carlo)
  • Hardware design analysis (Timing, Power consumption, Derating, FMEA)
  • Board bring-up testing/debugging
  • Design Verification testing
  • Qualification testing (EMI/EMC)
  • Technical (Design) documentation
  • Experience of de-rating, reliability predication analysis and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis(FMEA).
  • Awareness of RTCA DO-254 (EUROCAE ED-80) & RTCA DO-160 (EUROCAE ED-14)
  • Awareness of Avionic data buses such as ARINC-429, MIL-1553, AFDX
  • Awareness of HALT/HASS testing methodologies
  • Awareness of National Instruments LabView
