The Peninsula London is excited to announce we are seeking a Sous Chef for our Room Service Kitchen. The role will be responsible for assisting the Executive Sous Chef in planning the room service operation which will include directing, controlling, and supporting the kitchen team day-to-day to ensure guests are given exceptional service throughout their stay.

Key accountabilities

  • Promote The Peninsula London to becoming a recognized culinary destination by creating memorable guests experiences through artistry and uncompromised passion for excellence
  • Coordinate and direct all aspects of the Room Service kitchen operation and produce all food required
  • Develop, motivate, supervise and coach departmental employees in maintaining a culture in compliance with mission, vision, values, and core HSH principles
  • Ensure personnel, physical and environmental hygiene is maintained in adherence to HACCP
  • Always keep the kitchen equipment in pristine condition to maximize its operating life


General requirements

  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience in a five-star hotel with large banquet or employee restaurant with at least 3 years in charge of the department, pre-opening experience would be desirable
  • Extensive technical knowledge and the ability to identify current culinary trends
  • Ability to maintain an extremely sanitary environment, alongside being able to communicate effectively in a team
  • Fluent English communication proficiency
