This role offers an exciting opportunity to improve demand forecasting techniques and tools, contributing to the optimisation of the supply chain processes and to make a significant impact on business success through demand planning excellence.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Demand Forecasting and Management:

  • Develop and deliver accurate demand forecasts over a 1 to 2 year horizon, utilising Excel tools and incorporating the latest consumption rates.
  • Ensure demand plans accurately reflect known marketing activities, product launch timings, and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing teams to evaluate the likely impact of commercial investments on demand.
  • Reconcile and report on the accuracy of past demand plans and sales forecasts at SKU and customer level detail.


Supply Signal Conversion and Inventory Optimisation:

  • Translate forecasts into actionable supply signals, providing item-level recommendations and flow strategies to maximise product availability while optimising cash and inventory.
  • Contribute insights to stocking policies and monitor supply readiness and inventory risks, particularly during promotional and new selling periods.
  • Proactively resolve and communicate supply-related issues to stakeholders, ensuring alignment across functions.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Conduct root cause investigations and develop action plans to continuously improve forecast accuracy and supply performance.
  • Prepare relevant supply chain materials for Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive process and system improvements to enhance integrated planning capabilities and efficiency.


EXPERERIENCE REQUIRED:


Minimum of 3 years of experience in demand planning, with a demonstrated track record of driving performance through continuous improvement initiatives. Experience in implementing S&OP demand review or new forecasting tools is advantageous.


Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. A-Level Mathematics (or equivalent) is preferred.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced MS Excel skills, with knowledge of PowerBI/SQL preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Understanding of demand planning concepts, tools, and methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Capacity to work effectively under tight deadlines and deliver results with pace.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
