Are you a tenacious and innovative professional with a passion for technology and audit? Do you thrive on exploring new audit methodologies, leveraging your expertise in data analytics and understanding of technology risks to drive meaningful impact? If you excel at simplifying complex concepts and pride yourself on enhancing processes for greater efficiency, we'd love to hear from you.

We are now seeking an IT and Data Auditor to join our Internal Audit team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in planning, executing, and managing technology audit assignments as part of the Annual Internal Audit Plan.

You will ensure the integrity of technology-related controls and drive data analytics strategies across technology and non-technology audits.

What you'll do:
  • Conduct audits to assess technology-related controls, evaluating their design, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Lead data analytics efforts in audit reviews, utilising tools like Alteryx, KNIME, SQL, Python, PowerBI, and Tableau to test controls and offer operational insights.
  • Develop audit plans for Technology Services, set audit timetables and budgets, and create detailed risk and control matrices. Document key findings and draft reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with Technology Services leaders, enhancing audit effectiveness and fostering collaboration.
  • Spearhead strategies for using data analytics across various audits, ensuring data gathering aligns with audit goals.

What you'll have:
  • CISA or equivalent (e.g., IIA QICA) or a related BCS/computer science degree (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of technology risks in areas such as cyber and information security, user access controls, change management, cloud infrastructure, and disaster recovery.
  • Ability to map processes, analyse data flows, and create accurate data requests for audit purposes.
  • Proven use of data analytics within audits to test controls and assess efficiency.
  • Familiarity with IT Governance and risk management frameworks, especially in risk and control self-assessment testing.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualisation tools, with experience identifying control gaps and devising clear, effective solutions.
  • Clear, concise communication skills to present complex issues to senior stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of FCA and other financial services regulatory requirements (preferred but not essential)
