Supplier Quality Engineer

Role Overview
- Improve and develop supplier processes to meet procurement and quality management goals. This includes training suppliers on requirements, analysing their performance, and participating in improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and manage the safety, quality, and delivery performance of assigned suppliers using established metrics and KPIs.
- Enhance supplier capabilities by fostering a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven management.
- Keep abreast of product requirements and effectively communicate quality standards and initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with global functional departments with minimal supervision.
- Support and execute supplier qualification activities in line with global business management procedures.
The Candidate
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies such as 6 Sigma and 8D, and familiarity with 5S and Lean principles.
- Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and presentation software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to present and train effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of core manufacturing and inspection processes such as forging, fabrication, machining, coating, welding, and non-destructive testing (NDT).
- Understanding of how industry and regulatory standards interact with customer requirements.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational skills to manage a diverse workload effectively.
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate improvement projects.
- Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO45001, and API Q1 audit processes, both as an auditor and an auditee.
