Position Overview:

They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Mechanical Project Manager to join their team in Derby, UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage mechanical projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate and supervise the work of project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring all mechanical systems meet industry standards and client requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, preferably in the mission critical sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering principles.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel as required to project sites across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
