We are seeking a driven, professional, and experienced Senior Communications Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) to lead our communications efforts. This role requires a strong and influential communicator capable of managing a range of stakeholders and activities, including internal and external communications, PR, and crisis communications.


Ideally, the client is looking for someone with immediate availability or a one-month notice period.


Key Objectives of the Role:

  • Develop and lead comprehensive communication strategies that align with the company's initiatives and objectives, encompassing content creation, social media management, and media relations.
  • Utilize performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communications and adjust strategies as needed to optimize engagement and achieve business objectives.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships by identifying key stakeholders and developing targeted communication plans to engage with each group effectively.
  • Lead the company's reputation management by developing and implementing strategies to enhance brand reputation globally, ensuring alignment with our values and business objectives.
  • Monitor media coverage, social media trends, and industry developments to proactively address any potential reputational risks or crises.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives and subject matter experts, to ensure consistent messaging and positioning that reinforces the company's brand and reputation.


Responsibilities:

Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Liaise with leaders across countries (and time zones) to obtain information on communication impact and stories.
  • Manage the compilation and preparation of internal communications, including newsletters and messages aligned with strategic plans.
  • Measure communication efforts through defined metrics and report on a monthly basis.
  • Create and manage the communication budget aligned with the annual communication strategy to achieve maximum return on investment.


Public Relations / External Communication:

  • Lead PR agency relationships, maximizing scope and retainers in place.
  • Lead strategic PR and communications plans to enhance the company’s brand and reputation.
  • Ensure that executives are participating in external conferences/speaking events that enhance visibility and reach, and are prepped for participation.
  • Develop crisis communication plans and serve as a spokesperson during crisis situations. Support leaders through PR and crisis activities.


LinkedIn:

  • Oversee LinkedIn strategy ensuring KPIs are being met.


Internal Communications:

  • Lead internal communications approach ensuring key messages and updates are delivered and employees are kept informed.
  • Oversee the development of the internal intranet.
  • Schedule and disseminate leader content, working closely with the CEO and COO.


Content Production & Dissemination:

  • Lead the communications team in creating compelling content for various channels, including press releases, website content, social media posts, newsletters, and internal communications.
  • Coordinate and ensure quality assurance of content review with all involved team members and maintain brand integrity.
  • Mentor and coach the team as an integral part of driving excellence.


Other:

  • Contribute to ESG communication initiatives, working closely with the Governance Risk and Compliance Committee.
  • Support event planning and implementation as needed, including conferences, internal webinars, external hybrid events, and others.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and sentiment.


Personal Attributes & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Skilled at integrated storytelling across multiple channels.
  • Strong strategic thinker and hands-on executor.
  • Metrics-driven with a focus on content impact.
  • High standards for brand and design quality.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.


Essential Skills:

  • Proven track record of successful communication strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and confidentiality.
  • Experience working with senior executives and managing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with communication tools.
  • Strategic approach to content creation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using data to measure performance.
  • Experience in global or tech/hospitality/investment organizations is preferred.


The role involves working 1-2 days a week from our London office.
