Position Overview:


A Principal Developer we need will use their experience and expertise to lead and support us in how we deliver and maintain our products into the future whilst ensuring we balance business and technical sustainability.

You will be involved in the full product development life cycle playing a significant role in delivering innovative solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the design, architecture, and development of software solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical constraints.
  • expertise and oversight on technical design, quality, code, and development practices across teams.
  • with architects, operations, product, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver innovative, stable, and secure products.
  • significant technical decisions and technology choices are shared and adopted (where relevant) across teams.
  • stack development - writing reliable, maintainable, high-performance, well-tested code for critical parts of the system.
  • development and implementation of technical and quality standards across R&D.
  • as a technical role model. Your code (and tests) will implement and demonstrate our code and quality standards for all our teams.
  • and coach technical teams, fostering a culture of quality, delivery, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • applications meet required reliability, speed, scalability, and security goals through good technical design and review, developer testing, code reviews, and pairing where appropriate.
  • support across teams to troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues in test and production environments.
  • up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing where suitable.


Skills

  • Strong technical design skills – designing and implementing business critical software components.
  • in C#, Typescript, Javascript, SQL, and full-stack software development.
  • understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, with practical experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and MongoDB.
  • experience implementing message driven systems using queuing concepts and patterns such as microservices, event sourcing, command segregation, pub-sub, and others
