This role of Designer is focused on Women’s Knitwear, working with the UK knitwear design leads, head of design and the marketing team, to create on point, commercial and on trend garments that fulfill customer needs in conjunction with new innovative ideas and new technologies within Q Collection, working to customer specifications and internal sales and design strategies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Look for opportunities and white space gaps for individual customer accounts to grow Q Collection/SQ Group business with our customers, through competitive reports and a clear market analysis.
- Work closely with Design Leads, Design Assistants & Head of Design to create business growth opportunities.
- Liaise with customer buyers and designers on a daily basis to build relationships, and to action their specific requests, ensuring that samples and cads are right first time, with keen attention to detail.
- Manage and prioritize workload of respective product design area to arrange samples to meet deadlines in conjunction with Head of Design.
- Attend marketing events, trend fairs, fashion and fabric exhibitions/conferences etc. to understand upcoming fashion, color, fabric trends and create reports and insights based on the visits.
- Align these reports to white space gaps for our current and future customers.
- Create Seasonal trends alongside the Head of Design.
Required Academic Qualifications:
- BA Honors Degree in Fashion Designing or equivalent experience
Required Experience:
- 2 years+ experience in product area design across knitwear, with exposure to UK/European/US markets and customers
- Worked with buyers previously to design into cost parameters
- Knowledge of forthcoming trends and in season/out of season products and be able to apply them to commercial design – to grow the business
- Worked with off-shore factory’s and hub offices to ensure that first samples are visually and technically correct
- Able to seek to business opportunities actively through a keen insightful knowledge of customers.

and delivers according to given schedules

- Communicate directly with customers so good communication and presentation skills are key
- Ability to demonstrate the attention of detail and work to tight deadlines
- Enthusiastic team player and able to interact at all levels internally and externally
- Ability to take ownership and resolve issues with proven problem solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a constantly changing environment
