The role can be full time or part time, so it will be ideal for experienced data protection lawyers who need flexibility in their work hours or who are looking to make a phased return to work.


The role

As a senior lawyer, you’ll join help drive our growth, and you’ll take the lead on certain clients / activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leading the delivery of support to a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Director

• Leading the management and delivery of large, often cross-border projects

• Developing strategies to solve complex challenges and helping other team members develop these skills

Essential Skills and Experience

• Must possess a Legal Qualification in England or Wales, with PQE 4+ years’ experience advising across a range of global clients in data protection with experience gained in a recognised data protection practice

• Experience in providing data protection advice and guidance in relation to some or all of the following:

• ePrivacy / Digital Marketing

• Subject rights requests

• International data transfers

• Compliance review

• Personal data security breaches and subsequent remediation

• Developing and implementing managed legal services, relating to areas such as DSARs, Transfer Impact Assessments, DPIAs, Breach notification etc.

• Advising on risk assessing and compliance relating to emerging technologies, including AI and Cloud

• Business development and experience in profile raising and winning work.

Required skills include:

• Drafting

• People and project management experience

• Excellent stakeholder management skills

• Large global project experience

• Experience in drafting and reviewing documents and reports for board level audiences

• Experience in providing data protection advice and guidance

• An aptitude and interest in technology

• A high level of computer literacy, including a good working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and legal databases

• Be well organised and able to deal with large amounts of information and have excellent attention to detail

• A self-starter who can work independently and drive forward propositions and client projects.
