A unique opportunity to join the GRYD founding team as the first full-time employee. We're looking for a high-energy, passionate Head of Sales to join our team building and scale a high-growth energy tech start-up.


Company Description

GRYD Energy is a VC-backed solar-tech business setting a new standard for solar in the residential market. We're on a mission to tackle the energy transition at scale by launching the UK’s first true solar subscription, offering millions more homeowners access to affordable, clean energy.


GRYD flips the traditional ownership model by funding and managing solar hardware, removing the burden of high upfront costs and maintenance. We're partnering with real estate investors, housing developers and registered providers across the UK as we scale our service to 30,000 new-build homes over the next three years.


Role Description

As the Head of Sales at GRYD Energy, you will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy, managing the entire sales pipeline, building and maintaining strong relationships with housing developers, and registered providers. This role is crucial in driving our company's growth and establishing GRYD as a leader for solar in new-build developments. You will work closely with the CCO and leadership team, leading on customer acquisition, sales strategy, & business development.


Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company targets and objectives
  • Lead generation, customer and client outreach, and sales pipeline management
  • Leverage industry connections and networks
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to deal closure, with a focus on longer sales cycles typical in the property development sector
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers in the housebuilding industry
  • Develop and present compelling sales presentations and proposals to potential clients
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of solutions and maintain customer satisfaction
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to the leadership team
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments
  • Identify opportunities for GRYD to increase awareness and thought leadership positioning via different marketing channels e.g. tradeshows etc.
  • Build and manage a high-performing sales team as the company grows


Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant industry sales experience in a high-growth, fast-moving environment
  • Strong existing network of decision-makers with housing developers/builders
  • Understanding of legal aspects related to property development, housing and energy contracts
  • Proven experience in the built environment, energy sector, or real estate /housebuilding
  • Experience managing longer sales cycles and brokering complex deals
  • Experience in building sales processes and functionality from the ground up
  • Knowledge of solar energy systems and their integration into residential developments


Salary + Equity

The compensation package for this role is unconventional; suited to those eager to join an early stage start-up as the first employee and owning a meaningful part of the GRYD business. Please only apply to the role if you're comfortable with a basic salary range of £60-75k.
