The Role: As Deputy Curriculum Leader of Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our Science department. Working closely with the Curriculum Leader, you will assist in the development and implementation of innovative curriculum strategies that inspire and engage students. You will have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of dedicated Science teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and review of Science curriculum policies and resources
  • Support the Curriculum Leader in the day-to-day management of the Science department
  • Lead and coordinate departmental meetings and initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to Science teachers, promoting best practices in teaching and learning
  • Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of student progress and attainment
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to promote cross-curricular links and enrichment opportunities

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status and a strong academic background in Science
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a Science department
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement
  • A passion for fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the value of Science education
