Location: Newcastle

Salary/ Rate: £92 - £105 a day

Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm


Milk Education are currently in partnership with a school located in Newcastle that supports students who present with a range of complex, social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our school offers an effective, educational program delivered in a safe, stable and supportive environment with an increased opportunity to improve school attendance, and raise the attainment and is committed to enabling each student to strive to their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with the education team to contribute to the stability and learning aspirations of students. This whole school approach ensure that students receive consistent, high-quality education and care.


SEMH Learning and Behaviour Support Responsibilities & Duties:

· To encourage students to contribute to their individual Learning Plans; take an active part in planning their own future and to accept responsibility for their actions and works towards managing their behaviour

· To enable every student to become a positive, responsible member of society with encouragement to participate in a range of outside interests.

· To form appropriate relationships with adults and other students in a caring, nurturing environment.

· To ensure that the blend of teaching and care staff work co-operatively together so that individual Learning Plans are tailored to meet each individual students needs.

· To develop the positive self-esteem and confidence of all students.


The SEMH Learning and Behaviour Support candidate must have:

· Have proven experience working with pupils with SEMH / SEN in a school or alternative provision

· Have the ability to differentiate work according to each individual child’s needs

· Be resilient, show enthusiasm and commitment

· Have good organisational skills

· Be a good communicator who can work closely with colleagues

· Have good literacy and numeracy skills

· Have good behaviour management skills

· Be able to work on your own initiative
