Who we are
Secteur Privé is an ever-evolving and dynamic platform for both emerging and established artists and designers, with a purpose to connect creative communities across the world and invite viewers into a unique immersive experience that encourages contemplation. Our boutique gallery is nestled away from the conventional art gallery norms, that pushes the boundaries of the traditional "white cube" experience.
Secteur Privé is a very unique space set in a Grade II listed historical building in Marylebone. We are a small duo, and couple, and run about 3-4 seasonal exhibitions over each year. We are looking to grow our little family, and are on the quest for someone who has not only the experience, but the drive and desire to break barriers, and use the incredible potential and opportunity to make this role their own.
Who we are looking for
This is a temporary contract role for a dynamic and enthusiastic Gallery and Sales Assistant with proven sales experience and is ideas driven, located in London. It is a short term role, for an exhibition occurring during Frieze week, with opportunity to grow into a full time role. As the Gallery assistant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the art gallery leading up to and during the exhibition. Your tasks will include assisting the director and Gallerist with curating exhibitions and coordinating events, managing art inventory and installations/decommissions, building collector pipelines and closing sales, liaising with artists and collectors, and promoting the gallery's activities.
What we need
- Strong experience in art curation and gallery assisting
- Confident knowledge of art history, contemporary art trends, and the art market
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven sales track record
- Marketing and promotional skills (Social Media)
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Arts Management, or similar experience/qualifications also accepted
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ArtLogic
- Role available immediately
- Experience working with furniture and interior/design is a plus
- Availability 9th September to 18th October (with possiblity to extend by 1-2 weeks)
