I am working with a leading organisation in the engineering industry to recruit for an exciting new role for the business based in Doncaster.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Document Controller / Technical Author to join the contracts team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and technical writing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, training materials, and online help content.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather and interpret technical information.
  • Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, concise, and accurate documentation that meets the needs of both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, consistent, and adheres to the company’s style guidelines and standards.
  • Review and edit content produced by other team members for clarity, grammar, and technical accuracy.
  • Conduct usability testing and incorporate user feedback to improve the clarity and effectiveness of documentation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology to ensure that our documentation remains relevant and comprehensive.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Author, Technical Writer, Document Controller or Technical Author.
  • You must be from an engineering background.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
