Construction/ Dispute Resolution Solicitor

Elevate your legal career with a dynamic role in Construction and Dispute Resolution Law. A prestigious firm is seeking a Solicitor with 2-3 years PQE to enhance their construction team in Reading. Immerse yourself in a position that promises a blend of contentious and non-contentious matters, providing comprehensive legal services to a diverse clientele.
The appointed Solicitor will report to the Head of Construction, undertaking a variety of tasks that demand a keen understanding of major standard form contracts, particularly JCT and NEC. The role requires the drafting and negotiation of bespoke amendments, warranties, bonds, guarantees, and consultant’s appointments. Candidates will also manage construction provisions in project and development agreements, adjudication, and proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court.
Candidates should possess a robust background in dispute resolution and construction law, with the ability to navigate complex project issues such as pay less notices, loss and expense claims, and final account disputes. While some experience with professional negligence claims against construction professionals is favourable, it is not a prerequisite.
The role calls for a Solicitor who can work both collaboratively and independently, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent keyboard skills are essential, alongside a proactive approach to business development.
