Scope of the Sr HRBP role:

  • Take charge of fostering a robust organisational culture by addressing complex issues arising from evolving business demands.
  • Develop strategies to enhance employee experience, strengthen culture, increase engagement, support succession planning, and retain key talent, all while staying true to the core business values.
  • Collaborate with leaders as a strategic business advisor to help develop their leadership capabilities in performance management, navigating difficult discussions, managing change, and handling employee relations.
  • Propose flexible solutions to support ongoing improvements in workforce planning and organisational efficiency, offering insights into development, training, internal transfers, or exit processes within a flat structure that promotes continuous learning.
  • Act as a culture ambassador, ensuring that the team and people-related strategies align with the firm's key values.
  • Build strong connections between People Operations and other regions, with the EMEA offices being closely linked to global teams, making effective communication and collaboration critical for success. Focus on relationship-building to create meaningful context and optimise collaboration.
  • Influence positive change and proactively manage employee issues, working to resolve conflicts and prevent potential problems.
  • Work with business leaders to interpret strategic goals, facilitating global career development and mobility.
  • Advocate for the needs of the EMEA region, partnering with HR operations to drive process improvements and system upgrades that align with continuous development in HR support.
  • Contribute to global and regional HR processes such as compensation cycles, global transfers, leave management, and more, while identifying areas for improvement and emerging trends to enhance HR outcomes.
  • Develop, support, and communicate policies and procedures with a flexible, adaptive approach.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, and senior management on matters affecting local, regional, or global operations, ensuring alignment with employment laws, documentation, and contractual obligations, including confidentiality agreements and restrictive covenants.

Skills and experience required:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience as an HR Business Partner, ideally in sectors such as technology, financial services, or start-ups.
  • Prior experience working within a global, matrix-based organisation.
  • Ability to bring strategic thinking to the table by partnering with managers on yearly planning, setting priorities, and aligning with business goals.
  • Previous experience using effective questioning techniques to guide discussions, ensuring conversations can be deepened or redirected as necessary.
  • At least 8 years of progressive HR experience, including key areas like employee relations, talent management, compensation, performance management, global mobility, benefits, onboarding, and recruitment.
  • Deep understanding of the full employee life cycle and experience in handling ambiguity, addressing situations that may not have clear processes in place.
  • Strong proficiency with HR systems, including Workday, Greenhouse, and tools like Confluence and JIRA.
  • A genuine passion for developing others, mentoring both HR team members and the broader manager and employee community.
  • Superior listening abilities, actively attuning to both verbal and non-verbal cues in communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy, high-demand environment.
  • Experience identifying opportunities or potential risks and quickly executing recommended changes, especially in diverse, global, and cross-functional teams.
  • Passionate about an empathetic, people-first approach with a commitment to enhancing the performance and well-being of those around you.
  • Ability to successfully influence decision-making and effectively communicate ideas across a global matrix organisation.
  • Specific HR management experience in countries like France, the Netherlands, and other mainland European regions.
