Job Specification: Luxury Cruise Specialist
Location: Central London (Moorgate) / Hybrid
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
About Us:
With a strong reputation in the travel industry, we specialise in delivering exceptional travel experiences. Our portfolio includes bespoke luxury holidays, tailor-made itineraries, and a growing collection of luxury cruise options. As a company with over four decades of experience, we pride ourselves on our destination expertise, innovative approach, and passionate team. We are now expanding our luxury cruise offerings and are looking for a dedicated Cruise Specialist to join our sales team.
Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Luxury Cruise Specialist to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cruising, particularly within the luxury segment, and a deep knowledge of popular cruise destinations. You will be responsible for driving sales, offering exceptional customer service, and ensuring our clients receive personalised, memorable cruise experiences. Experience with Global Distribution Systems (GDS), particularly Galileo, is highly desirable as you will also handle flight bookings associated with cruise packages. As the cruise department continues to grow, we encourage a flexible and adaptable approach to sales. The successful candidate should be open to selling land-based products alongside cruise offerings, supplementing their sales and commission. This ability to cross-sell will not only enhance overall performance but also provide an opportunity to diversify their knowledge and skills in the broader travel market.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Relationship Management:
- Engage with clients to understand their cruise preferences and needs, offering expert advice on luxury cruise options and itineraries.
- Manage the entire sales process, from initial enquiry to booking, ensuring a seamless and personalised experience for every client.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Product Knowledge & Expertise:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of luxury cruise lines, including Regent Seven Seas, Silversea, Seabourn, and other high-end brands.
- Stay informed about new cruise offerings, destinations, and trends within the luxury cruise market to provide up-to-date information to clients.
Booking & GDS Management:
- Utilise the Galileo GDS system for flight bookings and manage complex itineraries, including pre- and post-cruise stays.
- Ensure accurate and efficient booking processes for all cruise and travel components, including flights, hotels, transfers, and excursions.
Customer Service & Support:
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Manage post-booking support, including amendments, cancellations, and additional requests to ensure client satisfaction.
Performance & Sales Targets:
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets, contributing to the company’s overall growth in the luxury cruise sector.
- Track sales performance and report on key metrics, identifying areas for improvement and new sales opportunities.
Required Experience & Characteristics
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in selling luxury cruises, preferably within a travel agency or tour operator.
- Demonstrable experience with GDS systems, particularly Galileo, is essential.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of luxury cruise products and destinations, with a proven ability to match clients to the right experiences.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to close high-value bookings.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring all client needs and bookings are handled efficiently.
Personal Attributes:
- Passionate about travel and cruising, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Proactive, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with high-end clients.
Benefits & Perks:
- Travel Benefits: Access to exclusive travel discounts, educational trips, and familiarisation cruises.
- Health Benefits: Private health insurance.
- Work Environment: Hybrid working model with flexibility to work from our office in Moorgate and from home.
- Social Events: Regular team events, including an annual Christmas party and summer gatherings.
How to Apply:
Please submit your CV along with a covering letter detailing your suitability for the role and your experience with luxury cruises. We look forward to welcoming an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Cruise Specialist to our team
Note: Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.
