This strategic role will involve overseeing both personal and professional affairs, and will be an essential figure in translating the principals’ goals into reality while ensuring operational excellence.

The Chief of Staff will work closely with the principals to shape and implement their strategic vision, providing operational leadership and acting as a key advisor. The successful candidate will need to balance hands-on project management with high-level strategic planning and team leadership.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee large-scale and complex projects, including property refurbishments, acquisitions, and business ventures, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Lead the coordination and communication between the principals and external contractors, architects, designers, and suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage a small team.
  • Ensure all aspects of the family office’s operations (HR, IT, security, etc.) run smoothly and in support of the principals’ overarching objectives.
  • Act as a representative for the principals in high-stakes interactions with external parties, including contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead negotiations and contract management, ensuring favorable outcomes in line with the family’s interests.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a high-level leadership role, such as Chief of Staff or Operations Director, with a demonstrated ability to work as a strategic partner to top executives or principals.
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading large-scale projects, ideally within family office or high-stakes environments.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to turn high-level vision into actionable plans and drive them to successful completion.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and guide small, focused teams.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of representing the family in high-level interactions and ensuring professional outcomes.
  • Technical proficiency in IT and project management tools, as well as comfort working with financial and legal documents.

Preferred:

  • Experience establishing and running businesses, especially within the hospitality or similar sectors.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting financial and legal documents, including budgets and contracts.
  • Previous experience in a Family Office or working with UHNWIs.
  • STEM background or degree.

Salary is competitive for the right candidate. It is an office-based role by default with a degree of flexibility when needed.
