NHS Appointment Bookings Team Lead

Location: Woodlands Hospital, Kettering

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full-time, Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 17.00

Woodland Hospital is one of Northamptonshire's leading private hospitals located in Kettering. Woodland Hospital has 35 single rooms, all with en suite facilities, a multi bedded day ward and a two bedded high dependency unit. The fully equipped theatre suite with ultra clean air technology is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacements, including hip resurfacing and spinal surgery.

The Role

We currently have a excellent opportunity for a NHS Appointment Booking Team Lead to join our team at Woodland Hospital, based in Kettering.

As the NHS Appointment Booking Team Leader you will be a result-driven team leader to be responsible for monitoring and supervising the Outpatients Appointments team to achieve the organization's objectives and provide a positive patient experience. You will be responsible for providing guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the team to perform at their optimum.

This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met. To be successful as a Team Leader, you should have a proven track record of team motivation and positive customer experience. You should be able to display excellent interpersonal skills to build quality relationships with the team and with customers, be goal-driven, and manage the day-to-day activities of the team efficiently.

The working hours are 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 17.00.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all Outpatient bookings are entered onto the system within agreed timescales and agreed with relevant departments.
  • Proactive EPR management to increase the number of referrals into the hospital.
  • Effective Clinic Management to include accurate Clinic templates, Clinic efficiencies and maximise room utilisation.
  • Work with the Outpatient Manager to ensure all Clinic space and Treatment rooms are utilised without clash of equipment.
  • All consultant annual leave, on call, study leave, and other cancellations of Clinics are actioned, and the system updated in a timely manner.
  • Point of contact for Consultants and Consultant Secretaries
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the team
  • Managing the Hospital telephone system, ensuring all calls are answered in agreed timescales and directed accordingly.
  • Training and motivating the team to achieve goals.
  • Conduct Performance Development Reviews (PDR's) and regular team meetings.
  • Contribute to the growth of the company through a successful team.
  • Ensure all records and reports are maintained and kept up to date.
  • Ensure relevant information is forwarded to all interested parties involved in the patient pathway.

About us:

Our new development at Glendon Wood is a combined investment of £14.5 million and will provide much need Outpatient (including Physiotherapy) diagnostics and Theatre capacity to support the current waiting times for secondary care as well as meet the future demands of an ageing and growing local population reaching over 250k people in Kettering, Corby, and Wellingborough.

The Day Case facility will provide 2 x Laminar Flow Theatres, Endoscopy Suite, an Ambulatory Service, static CT, MRI, X-Ray, and Ultrasound, 6 x Consulting Rooms and 1 x Treatment Room. Our new facility will be launched at a time when Kettering General Hospital propose to commence their own redevelopment of their existing site. We can therefore provide capacity and support to the local Healthcare system whilst this is taking place.
