We are a new government body leading the charge in delivering secure and sustainable nuclear energy for Britain, is seeking a skilled Head of Procurement to join our team.


In this critical role, you will lead and manage our Procurement Team, ensuring the effective delivery of procurement services and strategies that support our business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage our Procurement Team, including line management responsibilities, managing team and individual performance, and recruitment as required.
  • Develop and deliver our procurement pipeline, managing and forecasting demand for goods and services.
  • Develop and implement the latest procurement policies, procedures, and best practices within our organisation.
  • Provide strategic oversight and commercial support to our organisation in relation to procurement's, Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs), and contract management advice.
  • Develop and implement a supplier diversity strategy to promote the inclusion of diverse suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and manage supplier relationships.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and negotiate favourable terms with suppliers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement team.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in procurement.


To be successful, you'll possess:


  • Experience with public sector procurement regulations and processes.
  • Commercial knowledge and experience across the full commercial life-cycle, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Knowledge of the latest commercial methodologies, policies, and best practices, with the ability to demonstrate their implementation.
  • Experience with managing and leading a team of procurement professionals.
  • A comprehensive understanding of procurement principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve procurement challenges.
  • Ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of procurement professionals.
  • A commitment to ethical and responsible procurement practices.
  • Strong accountability for achieving procurement goals and objectives.


Qualifications:


  • Relevant Degree Qualifications
  • Preferred qualifications: CIPS and/or IACCM accredited.
