London NW EW, UK, United Kingdom Barnet Council Full time
Who You Are

You are an experienced social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience in a statutory Children's Social Care setting. You hold a recognized professional Social Work Qualification, such as DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent, and are registered with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC). You have a strong understanding of the 1989 Children Act, Adoption and Children Act 2002, Children Act 2004, and other relevant legislation, along with National Policies affecting children and their families. Your skills include effective engagement with children and families, sound professional judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with various agencies. You are adaptable, with strong oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to promoting equality and managing diversity. You are IT competent, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and information management systems.

What the Job Involves

This role involves providing a comprehensive and effective social work service within a resilience framework, addressing complex situations for children and their families. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will demonstrate expert practice in managing high-risk cases, assess and plan safeguarding measures, and support less experienced social workers. You will be responsible for integrating research knowledge into practice, leading in specialist areas, and participating in professional development programs. Your duties will include managing caseloads, creating detailed reports, presenting complex information, and working directly with children to assess their needs. Additionally, you will ensure all statutory responsibilities such as visiting children, arranging reviews, and court reporting are met. You'll also engage in research activities, provide workshops, and maintain organized case records. This position requires flexible work hours and the ability to travel for visits, along with occasional hybrid office working.
