Technical Product Owner

Our client is a well funded FinTech start-up who is looking to grow heavily over the next 12-18 months. They have an established and successful B2C Product with over 500,000 users and are excited to now be delving into the B2B market. Their product offering aims to help consumers track budgeting and spending through the use of cutting edge technology.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and prioritise business requirements and translate them into technical tasks and subtasks.
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including epics, user stories, and subtasks in Jira.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure they have a clear understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring it is groomed and updated regularly.
  • Provide technical guidance and clarification to the development team, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Drive the Agile development process, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively remove obstacles to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct regular reviews and retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and roadmap.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner or similar role in a fast paced, highly technical software development environment.
  • Strong technical background with proficiency in software development concepts and practices, ideally experience as a former developer or similar.
  • Experience with writing detailed technical tasks and subtasks in Jira.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with Agile tools such as Jira or Trello.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, especially with SaaS based B2C and B2B products, is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent is a plus.
