Cybersecurity EngineerLocation: London (Hybrid - 2 days per week in office)Contract Duration: ASAP start - 31/12/2026Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, full-timeRecruiter: Spencer OgdenAbout the RoleSpencer Ogden is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to support a major energy-sector client in ensuring compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements. The role will focus on preparing and securing plant and system certifications through both internal and external audits, as well as supporting broader cyber-risk management activities across the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support compliance activities aligned with local regulatory and global cybersecurity initiatives.Deliver risk management processes, including third-party assurance and mitigation planning.Propose and coordinate delivery of security controls to ensure risks remain within acceptable levels.Manage internal and external audits, gathering and presenting evidence to demonstrate compliance.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across operations, IT/OT, cybersecurity, and SCADA.Key InterfacesYou will regularly interact with:Operational site teamsContracts and procurement teamsCybersecurity and IT/OT teamsSCADA and digital operations teamsSenior security stakeholders (CISO/TISO level)Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:Proven experience in cybersecurity engineering, compliance or audit rolesStrong understanding of cybersecurity governance, standards, and risk frameworksAbility to manage audits and interface with internal and external stakeholdersExperience working within highly regulated industries (e.g., energy, utilities, infrastructure)Desirable:Experience with industrial control systems (ICS) or SCADA environmentsRelevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor)Certifications Required (to be maintained throughout the contract)Additional certification(s) may be required depending on project needs (IT-related)Additional InformationOffshore Work: Not requiredSite Visits: Yes - occasional visits to operational facilitiesInternational Travel: Yes - occasional travel to sites in EuropeDrug & Alcohol Testing: Required (office/hybrid role category)Equipment Provided: IT equipmentNotice Period: 4 weeksHow to ApplyIf you're a cybersecurity professional looking for a long-term contract within a leading energy environment, Spencer Ogden would like to hear from you.Apply now or reach out to your Spencer Ogden consultant for more details.
