Join us as a Senior Project Manager at our Portsmouth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.The RoleThe Maritime & Land business within QinetiQ is involved in a wide variety of exciting projects and programmes, from innovative research, through to complex trials using our strategic facilities.We have a Senior Project Manager opportunity based at our Haslar site working with our Platform Design and Life-support Systems Integrated Delivery Team (PDLS IDT). You will be responsible for delivery of Estates projects for the Maritime Strategic Capabilities Agreement (MSCA) and tasked with ensuring our commitments to our internal and external stakeholders are met. Our projects have a diverse and complex stakeholder community, both internal and external to the company.As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the project delivery and construction across the QinetiQ Estate to ensure a high level of service delivery. These will vary from general building refurbishments through to more technical requirements and even new build construction.Your responsibilities will include:Delivery of high value (£5m per annum) or complex projects and development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliersEnsuring project members operate in line with the Operating Framework & functional competency management requirements; and have appropriate personal objectives recorded in the QinetiQ performance management systemMaintenance of forecasts (both financial and resource demand signal) for delivery which reflects the up-to-date expectations for the workDefining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost planManagement of project documentation to include Bids, proposals and third party documentation (configuration control)Deploy appropriate risk management strategies and methods for controlling quality and ensuring the team are operating in a Safe & Secure mannerEssential experience of the Senior Project Manager:Stakeholder Management: identifying, planning and implementing actions to positively engage parties with an interest in, or influence over, the project outputsCreate an environment where a group of people with diverse personalities, skills, experiences and perspectives are empowered to collaborate towards a common goalIdentifying and addressing differences of objective, attitude or perception in order to produce an agreed outcome for all partiesWorking knowledge of Planning Application and GPDO process, sustainability and energy aspects of project deliveryDetailed knowledge of Building Regulations, JSP standards and environmental legislation and ecological regulation as well as working knowledge of NEC contracts as well as JCT & RIBAExtensive experience of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and must have acted as client or similar role on a construction related projectA detailed range of knowledge of civil engineering, infrastructure and building works methodsEssential qualifications for the Senior Project Manager:Demonstrable capability to International Project Management Association Level BExperience delivering projects to up to 3 different customersExperience of delivering construction or refurbishment projects following RIBA stagesExperience of delivering NEC and other similar contractsHold a recognised PM qualification (APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2)We value difference and we don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough or Portsmouth site.
