Experience in a laboratory or workshop environment is helpful, but full training will be provided.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThis role sits within our Materials and Process Laboratory team in Solihull. You'll support a range of testing activities, from sampling and preparing solutions to carrying out chemical analysis and materials testing. You'll play a key role in recording results, maintaining equipment, and supporting high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a chemistry or science background to grow their technical capability within an established, well-supported laboratory.KEY ACTIVITIESCarry out testing programmes for the assessment of process chemicalsSample process and plating tanksPrepare test solutions using laboratory techniques, including micropipettes, balances, dilutions and concentration calculationsSupport materials testing, such as XRF and fatigue analysisHandle chemicals safely in line with COSHH and health & safety assessmentsMaintain accurate records of results, observations and calculationsPrepare, maintain and operate a variety of laboratory equipmentMaintain good housekeeping in all work areasFollow all laboratory safety, quality and documentation standardsSupport wider team tasks as required (full training provided)REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCEChemistry background with hands-on practical skillsExperience handling chemicals or working in a workshop/lab environment (advantageous)Degree in a Science or Engineering discipline preferred (Chemistry A-level minimum)Strong computer literacy (MS Office)Flexible approach with the ability to work cooperatively across teamsExcellent team player with good communication skillsWHAT WE OFFERFull training and ongoing professional developmentSupportive and collaborative team environmentCareer progression within a global organisationAccess to employee benefits and wellbeing supportWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate against applicants.
