The VacancyAt Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team.This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield. Our Melt Shop Department is where we produce liquid steel to up 285 tonnes. The role will involve supporting our equipment used in the steel melting process, including installation, repairs and planned maintenance to plant and equipment.As a Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be required as part of the maintenance team to provide a hands on approach to ensure effective delivery of maintenance support. You will be part of the maintenance team contributing towards a continuous improvement culture within the department whilst carrying out repairs and planned maintenance on main forging presses with all the necessary upline and downline forming accessories.What you'll be doing Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy industrial equipment (AC and DC cranes, hydraulic presses, forging machinery). Supporting new installations and upgrades to plant equipment. Working at height and always following safe systems of work. Collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan maintenance schedules. Working to PPM systems Driving a culture of continuous improvement within the department.About You Apprentice-trained electrician with strong electrical installation knowledge. Up-to-date with regulations (17th Edition). Skilled in fault finding on both AC and DC controls. Experienced in heavy industrial and/or hot work environments. Experience of working on overhead cranes. Conversant with both predictive and planned maintenance techniques Safety-focused, with a full understanding of health and safety requirements. Flexible to work shifts and unsociable hours when needed.
