Job DescriptionLooking to combine your academic knowledge with real-world impact?This 12-month industrial placement offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at one of the UK’s leading power stations, supporting safe and efficient operations across a highly regulated environment.This is a chance to explore the intersection of business performance, operations, safety, and human factors, while building the core skills needed to kick-start a meaningful career in energy, strategy, or process improvement.Key CriteriaStudying towards or recently completed a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree (2:2 or higher) in:Business ManagementPsychology / Human FactorsAny Science or Engineering disciplineAnalytical mindset and ability to work with operational dataExcellent communication and report-writing skillsLegal right to work in the UK from the start date (visa sponsorship is not available)What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll work directly with station teams to identify performance improvement opportunities and help embed a culture of learning and safe operations. Past placement students have:Developed human performance initiativesInvestigated and analysed organisational eventsCreated learning briefs, OE reports, and benchmarking documentationSupported communications campaigns, training projects and business planningAnalysed trends using operational data to drive changeThis placement is designed to help you apply your academic training to real-world challenges, supported by mentors and colleagues across the station.Where You’ll Be BasedYou’ll be located at Torness Power Station in East Lothian, Scotland — a coastal site with a long-standing operational history and strong internal culture.
