Job DescriptionA leading law firm is seeking a Solicitor to join its Family department, based in Somerset. The role is open to candidates from newly qualified level up to approximately five years' post-qualification experience.Key Responsibilities:Managing a caseload of legal aid matters, under supervision, ensuring cases and transactions are progressed efficientlyLiaising directly with clients to take instructions and providing clear guidance that meets client expectationsWorking closely with Partners and senior Lawyers to enhance client relationship skillsProactively building and strengthening relationships with smaller clientsScoping and pricing work effectively, with appropriate supervisionPreparing and progressing advocacy matters while negotiating appropriate outcomes for clientsEnsuring compliance with relevant SRA principles and professional conduct rulesAdhering to all risk management policies and proceduresEnhancing personal profile, attracting delegated work, and contributing to departmental business development initiativesConsistently managing time recording, WIP monitoring and billing across personal and delegated mattersWorking towards personal and team KPIs, monitoring performance accordinglyAligning personal objectives with the strategic goals of the departmentCandidate Requirements:Qualified SolicitorExperience in Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse mattersAbility to manage files with minimal supervisionStrong client-handling skills with a commitment to exceptional service deliveryHighly organised with strong prioritisation skillsPlease contact Alice Tiller to discuss this role, or any others that we are handling.Please note that where a level of preferred experience or qualification is indicated, this is a guideline only and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience.Jameson Legal acts as an employment business for temporary recruitment and as an employment agency for fixed term contract and permanent recruitment.
