We refer candidates to Mercor that collaborates with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models.Organization: MercorPosition: Pension ActuariesReferral Partner: Crossing HurdlesType: Hourly contractCompensation: $60–$100 per hourLocation: RemoteCommitment: 10-40 hours/week, flexible and asynchronousDuration: ~6 weeksRole ResponsibilitiesFunding Valuations: Conduct annual funding valuations under IRC 430 using ProVal or SLOPE.Accounting Valuations: Complete ASC 715 accounting valuations aligned with fiscal year-end reporting.Benefit Calculations: Execute benefit calculations and prepare participant statements based on plan formulas.Nondiscrimination Testing: Perform nondiscrimination testing (401(a)(4), 410(b), ADP/ACP, top-heavy).PBGC Premium Calculations: Calculate PBGC flat and variable premiums using prescribed interest rates.Regulatory Filings: Prepare Schedule SB and PBGC Form 1 filings for electronic submission.Data Analysis: Analyze census and asset data for reasonableness and completeness.Documentation: Document assumption basis, data validations, and regulatory compliance steps.Ideal QualificationsStrong experience in defined benefit pension valuations and compliance.Proficiency with actuarial tools such as ProVal, SLOPE, or PensionSoft.Solid understanding of IRS regulations, ERISA funding rules, and PBGC requirements.Familiarity with ASC 715 and 10-K/10-Q footnote disclosures.Strong attention to detail and experience working with large census datasets.ASA or FSA designation preferred but not required.Application Process (Takes 20 min)Upload resume.AI interview based on your resume (15 min).Submit form.
